Katelyn Mesler received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University, where she defended her dissertation entitled "Legends of Jewish Sorcery: Reputations and Representations in Late Antiquity and Medieval Europe." Her published and forthcoming works on medieval history and culture include studies of magic, medicine, angelology, and eschatology. This year at the Center, Mesler is concentrating on European Jews’ encounter with Christian magic in the thirteenth-century.
